Fatal Four Operation - Pleasley, Portland and Grange Farm

Officers from Mansfield Central Team carried out a Fatal Four Operation this morning.

The areas attended were Skegby Lane, Chesterfield Road North and Sheepbridge Lane following requests and feedback from members of the public.

The 'fatal four' are offences prioritised by the police in the NPCC road policing strategy, to reduce the numbers of people killed and seriously injured on the roads. The fatal four offences are:

  • Speeding
  • Drink and drug driving
  • Driving while distracted
  • Non-wearing of seat-belts
  • Fatal Four Operations also constitute part of our officers efforts to assist with our local policing priority of vehicle related ASB. Our local priorities are also chosen due to public feedback and requests as well as crime figures.

Officers gave words of advice to several motorists as well as issuing four tickets for speeding with the highest speed registered being 43mph.

Officers will continue to undertake these operations and update via Notts Alert.
