You can now use our Dashcam App for footage recorded whilst on Horseback!

Ahead of the National Operation Gallop's Week of Action starting on 28th April 2025 our Dashcam App is now available to Horse Riders in Nottinghamshire. You can submit video footage of offences captured whilst riding such as Dangerous Driving, Driving without Due Care and Attention, Careless Driving or even using a mobile phone through our force's Operation CAPTURED which is Nottinghamshire Police’s response to the ever increasing submissions of video and photographic evidence from members of the public. This is similar to Operation Snap used by some Police Forces across the UK

https://dashcamupload.notts.police.uk/ is an online portal to upload digital dash / helmet camera footage to Nottinghamshire Police, you will need to have captured the vehicle VRM clearly in the footage in order for any action to be taken as a result of submitting any recording. The website also details how to report if you have not captured footage or are unable to upload it. If you are unsure of the rules set out to drivers, and riders, please refer to the Highway Code before submitting your footage, you can do that here https://www.gov.uk/guidance/the-highway-code/rules-about-animals-47-to-58

What will happen after I submit? An officer will review your footage and there are a number of disposal methods available dependant on the nature of the offence. The driver could be offered a Driver Education Course, they could receive a Fixed Penalty Notice, they could receive a Summons to attend Court or we may decide we are unable to take any further action. In any case you will receive feedback for every submission on the action we have taken. The footage and statement will have been reviewed and take all factors into consideration, including current CPS charging standards.

Please remember that our Facebook page isn't monitored 24/7 and we don't take reports of incidents via Facebook/Meta.
