Hello
Please see below quarterly update:
Current priorities in our area:
Actions on our priorities:
1.Drug dealing and antisocial behaviour (ASB) in Eastwood Op Panamanian:
Drugs A number of drugs warrant have been executed at addresses in Eastwood South and Newthorpe. Items seized have included cash, mobile phones, drugs and a XL Bully type dog. We have also closed down a property along South Street which was involved in drug dealing and ASB, see link below. These investigations are ongoing, and we are working with Broxtowe Borough Housing to deter further ASB and taking action against tenants, one of which has been evicted this month. Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) officers have been carrying out targeted hotspot patrols in the Eastwood South area, focusing on Hall Park following reports of drug use and anti-social behaviour. The increased high-visibility presence is aimed at disrupting activity, deterring offenders, and preventing crime by reducing opportunities for those intent on causing harm to the community. This priority will continue into the next quarter. /news/2026/june/bungalow-closed-after-becoming-magnet-for-drug-related-asb/
ASB There have been reports of ASB around Giltbrook Retail Park, primarily involving groups of young people engaging in low-level disorder that can be intimidating to businesses, shoppers and visitors. This behaviour is not acceptable. NPT officers are working closely with local businesses and partner agencies to conduct targeted patrols and will take proportionate action against those identified as being involved.
Off Road Bike Team The Off Road Bike Team (ORBT)and NPT have been out patrolling the hotspot areas for vehicle nuisance. Kimberley and Nuthall are the key areas for this ASB. We are working with our City West NPT colleagues who have seized bikes from the Broxtowe County Park that have been involved in the ASB. The ORBT is booked for July and August to help deter this issue.
Speed Enforcement Operation Officers conducted a targeted speed enforcement operation on Eastwood Road, Kimberley, in the direction towards IKEA. The operation proved productive, with a number of vehicles stopped and drivers engaged. Several speeding offences were identified, and appropriate Road Traffic Offence Reports (tickets) were issued. We will continue to monitor this area closely, and further enforcement operations are planned to address ongoing concerns around vehicle speeds.
2. Antisocial behaviour in Beeston Op Comprehensive:
Shop Theft A prolific offender, Kelly Freestone, has been arrested by the Neighbourhood Policing Team and sentenced to six months’ imprisonment for continued shop theft offences committed in Beeston. The individual was also found to be in breach of a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO). This result demonstrates our continued commitment to tackling repeat offenders who cause harm to local businesses and the community. 1041036735959419_1342267881261620/
Partnership Work – Villa Street, Beeston We have been working with housing partners to address reports of anti-social behaviour in the Villa Street area. Individuals responsible have been visited and warned that further incidents may result in enforcement action from the appropriate agency. CCTV is being utilised to deter crime and ASB, and reassurance has been provided to residents around reporting concerns to both the police and housing teams. This partnership approach is key to achieving longer-term improvements
