Local Priorities Retail crime Concern Update

Local Priorities Retail crime Concern Update

I wanted to provide you with an update regarding Retail crime, which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey.

Over the period of the past 90 days, there has been a spate of around 22 Burglaries and attempt Burglaries to commercial businesses such as takeaway restaurants, cafe's etc.
After a thorough and complex investigation, two males have been arrested and charged with offences in relation to this and will be due to attend court later in the year. In the meantime, one of those two males has been remanded into Police custody whereas the other male is currently on bail post charging.
As a result of this positive outcome, we have seen a dramatic reduction in Burglaries and since the arrest and later charging of the two males, there has been two offences.

If you ever experience this issue or have information regarding an incident, please report it using our online reporting tools at https://www.nottinghamshire.police.uk, speak to an operator in our Force Communications Room via our online web chat or call the non-emergency number 101.

Alternatively, you can stay 100 per cent anonymous by contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their untraceable online form at crimestoppers-uk.org.
