As highlighted last month, the priority activity has moved from South Street to Hall Park, Mansfield Recreation Ground and Coppice Drive within the Eastwood South area.  Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT)  officers have been conducting high-visibility patrols in the Coppice Drive area. During these patrols, officers arrested a male on suspicion of possessing Class A drugs and committing shop theft offences. The individual was subsequently recalled to prison.  

In a separate incident, police arrested a male on Princess Street, Eastwood, after reports of a disturbance outside an address. Following enquiries, he was arrested and charged with possession of Class A drugs.  As a result of the proactive patrols and enforcement activity carried out over the last month, reported drug offences within the area have remained stable, with no significant increase or decrease recorded. Patrols will continue at key times and locations to provide reassurance to the community, deter offending and address local concerns.

ASB

Reports of anti-social behaviour (ASB) have been received at Giltbrook Retail Park. In response, the NPT has been liaising with retail park management to strengthen partnership working and identify measures to address the issue and prevent further occurrences.

Prolific shoplifters 

Three prolific shoplifters who worked together to target stores across Broxtowe North have been sentenced after a Neighbourhood Policing Team investigation.

Officers worked closely with store security teams to identify the trio, whose persistent offending caused significant disruption to local businesses.  These offenders were working together to target shops, causing misery for retail staff and businesses. NPT will continue working with store security/staff teams to pursue persistent offenders and bring them before the courts.

       2. Beeston Town Centre Alcohol and Youth related ASB, Op Comprehensive

A dispersal order was implemented from 25/08/2026 and extended from 28/08/2026 to 30/08/2026 between 1200hrs and 0000hrs, following a number of incidents reported on 24/08/2026. These incidents included reports of violence, public order offences and robbery, which were believed to be linked to groups of young people causing disruption within Beeston Town Centre.  During the operation, officers conducted high-visibility patrols and carried out follow-up visits to victims and witnesses. The dispersal order provided police with additional powers to direct individuals involved in anti-social behaviour or criminality to leave the designated area.  The operation proved effective, with only three reports received during the period the order was in place. One individual was issued with a Section 35 dispersal notice and directed to leave the area. In addition, a stop search resulted in a male being found in possession of cannabis, and enquiries in relation to this matter remain ongoing.

12/08/2026, officers were in patrol and conducted a stop and search on Station Road, Beeston, following a report that a male was chasing another male in Beeston Town Centre. An anonymous caller stated that the suspect was believed to be in possession of a machete.  The male was detained and searched under Section 1 of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act (PACE) for a bladed article. No weapons or other prohibited items were located during the search. Subsequent checks revealed that the detained male was wanted for a shop theft offence in Nottingham City Centre. He was arrested and has since been charged in connection with that offence.

     3. Drug related crime and acquisitive crime Stapleford Op Techno

Police patrols in the area led to the arrest of a male at Ilkeston Road Park, where officers recovered a quantity of suspected Class A drugs. The investigation remains ongoing, and patrols will continue in the area as part of efforts to tackle drug-related activity and keep the community safe.

Op Burnout – Car Meets and Street Racing A52  Bardills Island, and Chilwell Retail Park areas

During August, a number of reports were received regarding vehicle meets, alleged street racing, and anti-social driving. Where officers attended, vehicles were generally found parked with occupants socialising, and no offences were identified at the time of attendance. Due to competing operational demands and higher-priority incidents, it was not possible to attend every report received.  The area remains under review and will continue to be monitored, with any intelligence or reports used to inform future patrols and enforcement activity where appropriate.

Off Road Bike and Ebikes

NPT officers conducted proactive operations across the Broxtowe NPA and City West areas. During one patrol, officers observed two juveniles riding Surron bikes. On noticing police, one of the riders abandoned their bike and made off on foot. The second rider attempted to evade officers but was detained following a short pursuit.  The rider was subsequently dealt with for a number of offences, and the Surron bike was seized by police. Enquiries remain ongoing in relation to the outstanding suspect and the abandoned bike. Further operations are planned between both NPAs, employing a range of different tactics.

Beeston NPT were scheduled to conduct Operation Wrangle in Beeston on 21 August 2026, targeting the unlawful use of e-bikes. However, the operation was postponed due to an immediate incident involving a prolific shop theft offender.  Officers responded and successfully arrested the offender in connection with multiple shop theft offences affecting businesses in Beeston and other areas across the city. The offender was subsequently charged with the offences.  The outcome was very positively received by local businesses, many of whom had been repeatedly targeted by the individual. Businesses expressed their appreciation for the swift police action and the positive impact the arrest has had on the local retail community.  Operation Wrangle postponed due to operational demand. Positive feedback received from local businesses.

All incidents reported to the police are risk assessed by the Force Control Room based on the information provided at the time of the call. This helps officers identify threat, harm and risk, ensuring the most appropriate response is provided and enabling resources to be deployed effectively.
